Governing Body

Hillcrest Primary School is managed by a pro-active Governing Body, comprising parents with specific expertise, school management and community representatives. At present, the Governing Body has the power to determine the following within the school:

• the mission, goals and objectives
• the admission policy, with the concurrence of the Member of the Executive Council
• the language policy, subject to the appropriate national and provincial policy
• the policy for religious observance
• the curriculum in terms of provincial policy, subject to the South African Qualifications Act, 1995
• the extra-mural curriculum
• the budget and administration thereof
• the fees payable by parents of learners and to oversee the collection thereof.
